New EP "Divination" by HELSLAVE is both crushing and memorable, playing Swedish inspired Death Metal in the vein of Grave, Entombed and Desultory. Prepare yourself for grim and murky death metal in the old style, the kind of stuff that doesn't rely on triggered blast beats, light-in-the-loafers warbling, or anything but the crudest building blocks to construct its killing art.

Recorded at 16th Cellar Studio (Hideous Divinity, Decrepit Birth) and Mixed & Masterd by Sverker Widgren (Diabolical) at Wing Studios. LISTEN to the track "Lord Of Lies" here:

Norway's Dødsritual and their new offering "Under Sort Sol" is radical, twisted, vicious, and progressive. Filled with all manner of haunted, unexpected melodies, harbored over ten tracks and 46+ minutes. Incredible structure, with their own quality brand of semi-epic, ferociously ripping, mixture of Black Metal genres. All flowing seamlessly track to track, working in all these many styles and influences into their riffs and interludes. "Under Sort Sol" is a proud testament to what made the Scandinavian originators so groundbreaking. The album has the atmosphere, the aggression, and the songs to make a spine-tingling and all-around pleasurable listen. WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO for the track "Under Sort Sol" here:

After months of silence & unholy rituals under the moonlight Italy’s Doom & Occult preachers CARONTE are happy to announce the release of their third full length album : “YONI”.
The record is going to be released the 29.10.2017 via Van Records and will be available in 2 formats: CD-Digipak and Vinyl.
Yoni is the most magic filled work the band has ever written! “It's music is more direct and its lyrics are more hermetic”, quotes the band. “It's the closing of our first cycle of activity since we were born, precisely 7 years ago.”

There are 7 tracks on the album, just like the previous two, and, with this record, the first trilogy dedicated to Thelema and to traditional Shamanism will be complete.

“We truly hope that the energy we poured in our work wil reach all of you who have always supported us. We wrote and recorded the tracks as part of our rituals, which remain a vital part of our artistic activity.”

One of the best bands to emerge from the depth's of the underground in recents years. Their 2016 debut 'Mork Profeti', album was one of this writers best picks of the year and I am glad to finally get the chance to interview them!

How did the band come together, did you know each other before or have you come to know each other since forming?

For a start it is  our  not first project, All the band members had  a good experience in other bands .With the rhythm ,solo guitarist and  Hungary drummer Donets Stepan we had a joint symphonic prohresive  death  metal project CrystalNight  i was played in a keybords in this project .

According to the Encyclopedia Metallum the band formed in 2015 that means you created your debut album in one year, which is astounding when listening to the album because its a very accomplished piece of work, not only in the riffs and musicianship but also in the dynamics and structures, it usually takes bands two or three albums to reach the heights accomplished on Mork Profeti. How long did you spend working on the songs.

Óes band was formed in 2015 but honestly we not spend for album full year. we recording it much more faster . we spend more time for searching where releasing it .we spend nearly 3 month for recording this album .As I said before our team has a lot experity in other music project that's why we dont need  much time  for doing that .

3 What did the writing process look like, did you rehearse a lot before entering the studio?

In our team all thing going really quick . Cuz each member took his part of the work on material . for example all musician part was made by our solo guitars player Max . All lyrics by out ryhtm guitar player Leo . thast why we dont spend much time on the conflicts of ideas .

Did you use any material from any privious bands or has it all been written since forming the band?

Almost all materials was wrote special for this project . Totally fresh new vision . Except the song Lade Evil it's cover on our old music project for the memory , cuz it's was first our project  in wich we was gethered up in frist time .

What is the meaning behind the title of the album and what subject matter do you deal with in the lyrics?

shortly said, it's a set of the propheties with warning to possibilities of the ends of the world .

What is the scene like in your home country are their any other great bands that we should know about?
I think so the most great  band in Ukraine it's  Lucifugum and Nokturnal Mortum .

If you had to describe your bands sound using only your influeneces which bands would you use to describe your sound?

Hard to said . Perhaps it's the mean difference between as an the other bands .Coz At that moment, as all try to adhere to what standards, the old-school sound. We are all trying to find our unique sound. What would be our different. I think we are on the right way .

What is next on the agenda for the  band ?

working of new album.Take part in concerts . festivals. And planing a tours

If there is one thing you would like to achieve with the band what is it?

I guess like every bands of the world , with trying to make a good music , We want  Fame, recognition))

US hard rock/heavy metal warriors WALPYRGUS have released a videoclip for the song “Dead Girls”. It is the second single of the forthcoming debut full-length “Walpyrgus Nights” which will released on 9th June 2017 via Cruz Del Sur Music.

Check out the clip here:
The video is based on the original art created by Scott Waldrop (also Twisted Tower Dire) for the comic book that comes together with the vinyl edition of the album. The glossy-papered, 56-page comic book depicts the lyrics of the album and as said, it is intended as a bonus for the vinyl edition.

The first single, “Somewhere Under Summerwind”, is streaming at this location:https://soundcloud.com/cruzdelsurmusic/walpyrgus-somewhere-under-summerwind/s-gSJkh
Coming from long running, respected bands, founding members Scott Waldrop (guitar/chief songwriter – Twisted Tower Dire), Jonny Aune (vocals – Twisted Tower Dire, Viper), Jim Hunter (bass – While Heaven Wept, Twisted Tower Dire, October 31), Charley Shackelford (guitar – Daylight Dies) and Peter Lemieux (drums - Viper) drew upon influences ranging from Iron Maiden, The Scorpions, Black Sabbath to early Slayer and even The Ramones - resulting in a harmonically rich, melodic, energetic take on classic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal.

“Walpyrgus Nights”, that features the artwork of Gustavo Sazes (Morbid Angel, Arch Enemy, Firewind), was recorded in a variety of locations over the course of two intense years under the guidance of mastermind Tom Phillips (While Heaven Wept), mixed by longtime collaborator Kevin “131” Gutierrez (Raven, Deceased, Believer) and mastered by Bill Wolf (Raven, While Heaven Wept).

NW Metalworx Music has partnered up with our friends at Heaven & Hell Records to help co-promote the reissue of CRUELLA's ‘Vengeance is Mine’ album on Vinyl/LP from Metalworx and H&H Records reissues of the CRUELLA albums ‘Vengeance is Mine’ and ‘Shock the World’ on Compact Disc.
“Jeremy Golden, Heaven & Hell label Records owner, approached us about the possibility of joining forces and helping each other get wider distribution worldwide for our labels - as well as working on re-mastered reissues of both classic CRUELLA albums originally released in the late 80s and early 90s. ” –James Beach
A little about the band: CRUELLA was formed by Roger DeCarlo in early 1986 after his previous band XINR folded in late '84 due to the deaths of two founding members. The original lineup featured DeCarlo on lead and rhythm guitar, co-songwriter, and bassist Kate "Fate" Wilson, Kirk Johnson on second guitar, Wes Johnson on drums and Rick Nolen on vocals. They recorded their first demo, ‘Power Metal’ that year and started playing shows. A while later Kirk went into the army and Wes had to move from Portland. Drummer Dave Hval came on board and it became a four piece. Wilson was soon fired after that and bassist Rob Conrad replaced her and the band was solidified. After many local gigs and another popular demo tape, Metal Revenge, the group landed a deal with US Metal records in Germany for their two album releases. Nolen left after ‘Vengeance is Mine’ was released and Ex-Iscariot singer Terry Kysor stepped in on vocals for a short while. Later Hval replaced him on vocals for the next album, ‘Shock the World’, in 1990 – with Conrad also handling some of the vocal chores.
The band broke up in mid-1990 initially but reformed the following year with DeCarlo, Conrad and Charlie Nelson on drums. The band broke up again in 1992 for good.
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of this 1987/1988 debut album by the Portland, Oregon band. NW Metalworx Music will be reissuing ‘Vengeance is Mine’ in a limited to only 500 hand-numbered copies on high-quality orange & black vinyl with new jacket artwork, liner notes, lyrics and more. The first time the album has ever been released on vinyl in the US.
In addition, Heaven & Hell Records plan to reissue both CRUELLA – ‘Vengeance is Mine’ and the band’s 1990 follow-up ‘Shock the World’ on CD in a limited 500 pressing. Each album will be re-mastered and packaged with a special booklet including new jacket artwork, lyrics, liner notes, and photos.
“CRUELLA was one of the first bands I looked into for re-issuing all those years back when H&H first started doing reissues. I’m very excited to finally see this project happening. These two albums certainly deserve to be put back out for the metal fans, and time seems right for it to happen.” – J. Golden
“Since we were already doing a 30th Anniversary reissue of the first CRUELLA album on limited edition vinyl LP it made perfect sense to join together on the CD releases as well. NW Metalworx team member James R. Beach is working directly with CRUELLA guitarist Roger DeCarlo on the Heaven & Hell CD releases to provide the liner notes for the booklets, source material for the music, and the artwork.” –James Beach
CRUELLA recorded killer power metal with elements of thrash along the lines of Savatage, Metal Church, Sanctuary and others. These two albums are sure to satisfy any fan and collector of U.S. power metal from the golden age of the genre.
Both the LP and the CDs are scheduled for a late spring/early summer 2017 release and will available directly from both labels and at various stores and dealers worldwide.

Filmed partly live and in their practice room the video gives an insight into the fun and violence that Grindpad stands for. And of course not even the video is safe from the shark infestation!

Putting’ back the violence in Metal

In Autumn of 1986 (ok, 2006…), guitarist JG was asked by some local musicians to join a metalproject.
An on & off thing, nothing serious by that time. The name Grindpad was mentioned every now and then.
After a few months, Axel joined the (then still nameless) project.
Although it was more of a Death/Grind-band back then, JG and Axel soon realized that this Grindpad project was the perfect vehicle for them to use, to release for their hunger to make old-school violent Metal.
Bored to death by the whole new wave of the countless gutless, whiny, death/core/fashion/whatever-bands, they knew that there was a place for them to bring the aggression back in Metal, as if it were a 1985 Exodus show!
From mid-2007 on, Grindpad became the official name, and the machine started rolling.
Cool shows and two EP’s, leading Grindpad to win the Dutch Metal Battle in 2010. More shows followed among which were Occult Fest and shows supporting Bolt Thrower, Benediction & Tankard.
Bandmembers came & went, but the two-guitar-assault-engine (JG & Axel) always stayed the same.
Then, in 2011 the machine collapsed when three out of five members left...
Instead of quitting, JG & Axel were more determined than ever to keep the monster alive.
It didn’t need to be ‘brought back’; it was never dead…
Having never been fully satisfied with the musical direction, they decided that now was the time to switch one hundred percent towards the music that they always wanted to bring: violent, aggressive, old-school, non-melodic, merciless, hacking THRASH!
The philosophy being: one Slayer/Exodus/Pantera song destroys an entire deathcore-army in terms of sheer energy and aggression.
In 2012 Olivier and Remy joined Grindpad.
With Olivier’s aggressive vocals and Remy’s pounding low bulldozer sound, the whole band was in the right mindset, and started writing an entire new set of songs.
To help out on drums Paul Beltman (River of Souls, Ex-Sinister, ex-Judgement Day) was willing to put in his aggressive no nonsense drums and Grindpad was ready to attack again. Now armed with their new EP “SharkBite!”.
Grindpad aims for the things that are mostly neglected in Metalnowadays:
Aggression, violence, anger. That is what Metal is all about (and always should be).
Nothing less.
And man does Grindpad get it…
